Course Objective

Personalized learning seeks to individualize teaching and learning by providing learning opportunities targeted to students’ readiness levels, interests and personal goals. Its goal is “each child learning at their best and at their own pace”. This course explains basic concepts and strategies the teacher can use to accomplish personalization in a regular classroom. This is an introductory level course. Topics: 1. What is Personalization? 2. How Does Personalization Differ From Traditional Schools? 3. School Strategies for Personalization

Course Delivery and Access Methodology

The course is delivered over internet.  You must complete the enrollment process before you can access the course.

Mrs Marie Cashion

Marie is an educational visionary whose work as a teacher, researcher, trainer, and consultant has spanned three continents and many cultures, beginning in the K-12 schools of Boston and continuing through to the Faculty of Education at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). She is actively engaged in teaching Special Education and Inclusionary Practices to teachers in Trinidad and Tobago through UNB’s Educator Development Program. In 2007, sponsored by Canadian NGO Help Lesotho, Marie traveled to Lesotho to conduct an extensive needs assessment of schools. As a member of UNB’s Faculty of Education, Marie has served as Acting Dean of Education, Chair of the Department of Educational Foundations, Professor of Education, and Director of the Learning Centre.
