Course Objective

In the present economic scenario, quality is one of the key elements of organizational success. In this dynamic environment, organizations are under tremendous pressure to improve their products and processes and reduce costs continually to remain competitive. This presents an urgent need to rely on tools and techniques in dealing with challenges for producing quality products and services with a very high order of consistency, reducing wastes, and to innovate on product designs and processes so as to maintaining the competitive edge. This course has been designed to serve as a foundation for any person planning to make a career in Quality Assurance and Management. It includes, all the basic and advanced statistical analysis tools, quality approaches to problem solving, quality planning, quality assurance and quality management. This course has been very thoughtfully conceived into a structured design, where the foundation module builds up the understanding of the candidate as the foundation for the advanced modules. The course also includes a number of applied exercises that enables the student to apply the learning's in an integrated manner. At the end of the course, the comprehensive training would enable the student to emerge as a thorough (certified) quality professional and would be a long term asset to any company he works for. Each chapter consists of knowledge sessions and practice exercises, and includes examination. Level A has a comprehensive (on-line) examination at the end of course. Advanced levels B 1, B2 and C also include submissions assigned through the course. All examinations shall be conducted on-line in a limited duration time. The student can take the examination using his Desktop / laptop. In special cases, such as company sponsored students, examination may be conducted at the company premises under mutually agreed controlled environment. The minimum pass percentage is 60 % in each module assessed overall on examination and practical work as applicable. A student who secures 75 % or more will be awarded a Distinction Certificate at each level.

Mr Anupam Kaul

Anupam Kaul heads and leads the standards, quality management, laboratory management, risk management and quality in governance initiatives of the   CII Institute of Quality. In a career spanning 34 years, Anupam has had a varied and extensive exposure to industrial quality control, management systems implementation and auditing, standards development, laboratory testing and management, business excellence, human resource management, accreditation, risk management and training. He has played a key role in developing quality certification courses in India as well as in the launch of Risk management and business continuity management standards in India. He conducts trainings, workshops and master classes on Risk Management. He initiated in India, training programmes and counseling support services on Accreditation Standards for Inspection Bodies, Management Systems Certification Bodies, Product Certification Bodies and has been India’s leading coach on these subjects having trained more than 600 certification / inspection auditors and managers in the past 8 years. He has played a key role in development of important ISO standards. He  is  currently  the  Indian  nominee  on  the  ISO Working  Groups for  next revision of ISO 9001. He was member of the Working Group in the development of ISO 9004. He is currently leading an initiative for establishing a programme for writing association level standards in India.

He is also a Senior Assessor for CII EXIM Bank Business Excellence and HR Excellence Awards and has conducted more than 25 assessments. He is a Lead assessor for United Nations CDM Accreditation Scheme since 2010 and has conducted a large number of assessments of international bodies involved in CDM certification.  In his previous engagements, Anupam headed the National Institute of Training for Standardization, Certification Policy and Overseas Certification divisions of BIS. He is currently associated with BIS and National accreditation boards for certification and laboratories, on their various policy and technical committees as a quality and conformity assessment expert and through BIS, represents India on several ISO committees. He has written and presented several papers/ lectures in national / international forums on  Quality applications, Conformity Assessment, Mutual Recognition agreements, Accreditation, Business Continuity, Public Services, Technical Regulations. A BHU IT graduate in metallurgical engineering, Anupam works out of Gurgaon office of CII and lives in Delhi.
